أعلن الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا)، الأربعاء 11 ديسمبر 2024، فوز المملكة العربية السعودية باستضافة كأس العالم FIFA™ 2034، وذلك خلال اجتماع الجمعية العمومية الاستثنائية الذي عقد افتراضيًا اليوم.
وستكون المملكة أول دولة مضيفة في التاريخ تستضيف بمفردها النسخة الأكبر من بطولة كأس العالم، التي ستشهد مشاركة 48 منتخبًا وطنيًا في خمس مدن لاستضافة مباريات البطولة، بعد إقرار النظام الجديد للبطولة من قبل الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم في وقت سابق.
وكانت المملكة قد سلمت ملف ترشحها بشكل رسمي لاستضافة هذه النسخة من نهائيات كأس العالم يوليو الماضي، تحت شعار “معًا ننمو”، والذي كشفت فيه خططها الطموحة لاستضافة هذه البطولة الأهم في عالم كرة القدم، من خلال استضافة مباريات المونديال في 15 ملعبًا، موزعة على خمس مدن مضيفة؛ هي: الرياض، وجدة، والخبر، وأبها، ونيوم، بالإضافة إلى عشرة مواقع استضافة أخرى عبر المملكة.
وتهدف المملكة من خلال استضافة كأس العالم FIFA™ 2034 إلى توفير تجارب استثنائية للاعبين والمشجعين من حول العالم، مع توفير مرافق وخيارات إقامة متميزة، تلبي متطلبات الزوّار على اختلافها، مع اهتمامها باستدامة المشاريع المنشأة والمحافظة على البيئة، كما تتوافر شبكة مواصلات متطورة، تمكن الجماهير من الوصول إلى الملاعب بسرعة وسهولة، بالإضافة إلى تسهيل إجراءات السفر؛ لضمان تجربة مريحة ومتميزة للزوّار.
وأكدت المملكة، بعد إعلانها رسميًا كدولة مستضيفة لكأس العالم 2034 للمجتمع الدولي، التزامها بتقديم تجربة استثنائية وغير مسبوقة للحدث الرياضي الأكبر حول العالم، مساهمة بذلك في بناء الإنسان، وتنمية القدرات البشرية، ومد جسور التواصل بين ثقافات العالم، مراعية بذلك الأثر البيئي، وعوامل الاستدامة، وتعظيم الإرث الرياضي والوطني من الاستضافة، حيث تمثل استضافة بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم FIFA™ 2034 فرصةً مهمةً لتسليط الضوء على مسيرة التقدم التي تعيشها المملكة منذ إطلاق سمو ولي العهد – حفظه الله – لرؤية المملكة 2030 في عام 2016م، إلى جانب الإنجازات المستمرة في قطاع الرياضة، باستضافة العديد من الأحداث الرياضية العالمية كسباقات فورمولا1، وفورمولا إي، ورالي داكار، علاوة على السوبر الإسباني والسوبر الإيطالي، وغيرها من الأحداث والفعاليات الرياضية المختلفة والمتنوعة، والتي أثمرت عن نمو كبير في قطاع السياحة؛ بتجاوز عدد السياح المحليين والدوليين لـ 100 مليون سائح خلال عام 2023م.

Today, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, will be etched in history as the day the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a groundbreaking moment, secured the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup™. This monumental announcement, made during a virtual general assembly meeting by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), marks Saudi Arabia as the pioneering host of the largest edition of the World Cup.
In a historic moment, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been chosen as the first host country in history to host the largest edition of the World Cup. Following FIFA’s approval of the new tournament system, this monumental decision will see 48 national teams compete in five cities across the Kingdom, marking a significant milestone in the history of the FIFA World Cup.
The Kingdom officially submitted its candidacy file to host the 2034 World Cup Finals last July under the slogan ‘Together We Grow. ‘ This was a testament to its ambitious and innovative plans, which include hosting matches in 15 stadiums distributed over five host cities and ten other hosting sites across the Kingdom. These plans demonstrate the Kingdom’s dedication and clear vision for this most important tournament in the football world.
By hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup™, the Kingdom is making history and committed to providing exceptional experiences for players and fans worldwide. The Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and the environment, coupled with its state-of-the-art transportation network, inspires hope for the future of sports events. Other sporting events and activities have resulted in significant growth in the tourism sector, exceeding the number of arriving tourists by 100 million during 2023.
